February 24, 2022, State Institution “Center for the Development of the Halal Industry” under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, together with the Kyrgyz-German-Swiss Program “Green Economy and Sustainable Development of the Private Sector”, implemented by GIZ, as part of advanced training in slaughtering animals in relation to food safety requirements for domestic markets and promotion of exports of the Kyrgyz Republic, a training was held for private entrepreneurs and companies providing animal slaughter services.

The training was attended by representatives of state bodies and public organizations of the Kyrgyz Republic. The lecturers were AFC experts Chynara Serkebaeva and Yulia Marchenko, Almaz Kaiyrbekov, director of the State Institution “Center for the Development of the Halal Industry under the IEC of the Kyrgyz Republic”, Sazhida Urazbekova, chief specialist of the department for confirming the conformity of products and services, Eshankulov Sharabidin, specialist of the Osh branch of the CSM, Talant Ernazarov , international expert on Halal certification, Asylbek Moldakmatov, director of the Association of Legal Entities “MAPEF”.

During the training, the participants got acquainted with the peculiarities of slaughtering livestock. The slaughter of livestock is a complex procedure that, on the one hand, must be humane for the animal, and on the other hand, it must be carried out in compliance with the technology and requirements of halal standards.

The participants of the training were given the opportunity to exchange views on this issue, to consider it from the standpoint of all subjects. Measures for the development of the halal industry, taken by the Ministry and interested private sectors, aroused high interest among the participants of the seminar. It was also proposed to work in more depth in this area.
